Few bands played cock rock exclusively, but some artists with cock rock tendencies include Bad Company, Peter Frampton, Grand Funk Railroad, the Rolling Stones, Ted Nugent, John Fogerty, Aerosmith, AC/DC, and Bob Seger.
Musically, cock rock overlaps with blues rock, southern rock, hard rock, and arena rock, but what ties it all together as cock rock is an egocentric, tough-guy swagger and lots of ridiculous macho posturing. The lyrics often equate hard-rocking with virility and dangerousness.
The genre's primary audience was (and still is) guys with mullets and Camaros.
Though cock rock still gets plenty of airplay on classic rock radio, there are (mercifully) very few new practitioners of the style.

They have just driven through it on the NYS Thruway and pass it off as something it really isn't without actually seeing it. It's culturally no different from the other suburbs, and its no farther away from NYC, so stop badmouthing before you've actually seen it. In addition, Rockland's median household income in 2003 was higher than that of Westchester, Nassau, or Suffolk (7th in the nation), so calling it 2nd class is wrong.

Trucker CB (citizens band) slang for the position of a vehicle in a line of vehicles that is neither at the front or rear of the line. A vehicle in the "rocking chair" is supposedly protected from law enforcement or smokey because it can receive warning by CB radio from those vehicles ahead and behind about oncoming (or overtaking) patrol cars, speed traps, etc.
I was in the rocking chair and escaped a speeding ticket because the lead trucker warned me of a patrolman with a radar gun (Kojak with a Kodak).
