Named after something that accompanies theatrical movies, this slang term refers to the kind of kid who always joins Mom and Dad at the cinema, old enough to watch any movie Mom and Dad want to watch but still too young to go alone.

My little brother is such a trailer; he loves tagging along for family movie nights, even if we’re watching something way over his head!

A slang term describing Gen Z as a precursor or "trailer" for Gen Alpha, highlighting how their behaviors and media consumption patterns forecast the trends of the next generation.

According to the report titled Generation M²: Media in the Lives of 8- to 18-Year-Old first published in January 2010, the screen time durations of Gen Z-kids (born 1997~2012) show that Gen Z is a trailer for Gen Alpha (born 2013 until present. When this report was first published, time spent playing outside, reading, and listening to music CDs decreased, whereas time spent watching DVDs and streaming platforms (e.g. Netflix, Hulu) and surfing the Internet increased.

Trailer Trash

Someone who lives in a trailer in a trailer park. The trailer is at least 30 years old and run down with a flat roof. Usually multiple families in one trailer. They like to smoke cigarettes on their painted redwood porch. They always complain about or fighting with their neighbors. At least one person in the trailer is living on welfare and getting food stamps or disability. No teeth, fake teeth or rotten teeth. Driveway full of junk cars. Sometime incest is involved somehow. Usually has a Trump sign in their yard or rebel flag. Uses sheets for curtains. Usually, a bunch of dead plants on the porch. Cheap dollar store yard lights and decorations.

Carl isn't trailer trash because his trailer is well maintained, has a shingled roof and is setting on an acre of land in the country with beautiful landscaping.

Rose is trailer trash because she lives in a dumpy trailer park in the city with a trump flag and cheap, very tacky lawn art.
