Oldham-ing or to be a bit of an Oldham......is to exist with no knowledge of the modern world's idioms and to be continually perplexed by new phrases.
Normally just a problem for the very old. But occasionally someone you know will drop themselves right in it for the amusement of all !

To be indecisive in way that suggests lack of boundaries. To refuse to "put one's foot down" on a matter. The word references the way the large pink bird often stands on a single leg.
