could everyone please shut the fuck up calling people posers. its just obnoxious. dont criticize others for where they shop, look like, live, listen to, etc. there are some groups of people i dont like, but i wouldnt call them posers (in my opinion). smoke up and geddalong!

Someone who spends all or most of their time trying to find out whats "cool" or "in". Once they know what is "in" they do it no matter what their personal veiws on it are. Posers usually pose off of what is on MTV or VH1 or their local "hot" radio station, because they think they will be accepted for it. Normally posers also take whatever they are posing off of to an abnormal and unhealthy extreme. Posers change their style to fit what's "cool". They are usually the losers who have a myspace and comment the people who origionally wore the style they pose off of saying "I LOVE YOU SOOO MUCH!!<33" even though they either don't know them, or the origional hates them. Posers often have "myspace pics" or "emo pics" on their myspace. They are often always hated by everyone else they know except their poser friends. Posers also sometimes write and/or talk in "internet lingo" while not on the internet. Most also over use the famous comeback of "your mom".

skater:Hey man, nice board.
poser:Dude, thanks! I bought it last week!
skater:Um... it looks just like mine.
poser:Dude, I know, it's totally sweet, right?!
skater:Uh yeah? What tricks can you do?
poser:I can.. um. Almost do that jumpy-thingy.
skater:Ollie?

A word used by teenagers to describe other teenagers; usually to make themselves feel more secure about themselves. Apparently if a teen can spot a "poser", they're automatically cool.

1. "Oh my god, tell that girl to remove her Anarchy shirt. If she believed in Anarchy, she wouldn't be at school! What a poser!"

2. "That girl is wearing fairy wings, and you know, since Hot Topic sells fairy stuff, that means that fairies represent the underground punk sub-culture, therefor that girl is a POSER! You hear that, poser!? You can't wear fairy wings! You're not punk!"

3. "That girl says she's gothic, yet she has never heard of the band Bauhaus. What a poser! She's just another wrist-slicing attention whore poser!"

4. "You dyed your hair black! Poser!"

5. "Wow, Jessica. You should really stop calling people posers to make yourself feel better. It's only making you look bad. No wonder you have no friends."

I love how people always this that posers have something to do with "punk" or "gothic" or "hardcore". Not all posers try to be someone in that genre, some posers try to be "gangster" or "prep" or some other ordinary steriotype, to fit in with their peers so that people don't think different of them than what that person wants them to think. It's actually a shame, that posers are ahsamed of who they are, so they have to pretend to be someone else to be satisfyed.

Kids who come home from school and take their spike bracelets off, and wipe off their eyeliner, because they think it's uncomfertable.. but, when they go to school, or go to the mall with their friends, they put all that stuff back on because that's what he/she wants his/her friends to think they dress like because that's what they dress like... they are posers.
