Gaper Gates are swarms of rookie skiiers which clog narrow parts of the ski runs, usually toward the end of the day when everyone is getting off the mountain. Mostly annoying, they can be fun to slalom as you pass through.

Get the Gapermug. A person from outside of the mountains (that includes you, Denver) who arrives during holidays or on the weekends and wreaks havoc on the mountain communities. Texans are often considered gapers (or “gapes”, colloquially) but make no mistake, front rangers (Denver, Boulder, etc) you are gapers as well.
