curmudgeon's fallacy

The belief efforts to protect people from calamity will only lead to them being more careless, and bringing on more calamity.

This is a fallacy because it (a) assumes people can adjust personal risk to replicate an incomparable situation, and (b) it confusing risk-taking and risky behavior. "Risk-taking" is a neutral term that includes anything that increases risk in some way, such as operating a machine at a higher speed. This usually is done to get some other benefit. "Risky behavior" is foolish, feckless, or sloppy behavior that has no intrinsic utility to the person engaging in it.

An example of the curmudgeon's fallacy is the erroneous claim that safer cars make for careless drivers.

Wichita Falls

A place in Texas, close to Oklahoma, rather overrun with airmen in training Sheppard AFB, shabby tattoo parlors and chain restaurants. Famed for the Hotter N Hell 100 and the man made brown water "falls", thats about all we have. Kindest people, most of them relatively unattractive, feels like home no matter where you're from.

Beacon Falls, Ct

A very tiny little town. There is a mixture of truck driving fuckboys and good people. There is at least 400 volunteer fireman. With only 1 gas station in town they mark up everything 73%.

Most bros here are fake urban cowboys who have never even fucked their cousin let alone road a horse.

All in all being that it's such a small town you know that inbreeding is almost impossible to avoid. Give it 100 years or so and this entire town will become filled with melon heads.
