These individuals as outsiders, often lack knowledge about the significance of practice they imitating within the given culture. Typically individuals who practice cultural appropriation feel extremely entitled, and lack a sense of awareness or respect for the people who actually practice the cultural traditions.
White people dressing like native americans, asians, black people, and other cultural groups for halloween. White people practicing yoga purely as a form of exercise without understanding the historical roots. White people who listen to rap music, but have no black friends. These are all examples of cultural appropriation, because people who have and practice these cultures do not approve of these acts.
