the now commercialized term used to describe a guy that has long hair and wears an entire wardrobe usually from pacsun or a ccs catalog. It no longer is someone who skateboards, but has become a term that describes someones style. "skater" is a fashion.

girl 1: did you see that cutie in pacsun?
girl 2: yeah he was so skater
girl 1: his hair was so skater jeethus chritht

1. a stupid poser who wears super baggy pants, hoodies, and carries his skateboard around school all day and smokes pot all day long. usually cant ride on their board for more than 3.235123 seconds before slipping off. only trick they have heard of is the "kickflip" which they cannot do and dont even try. skate just for the image of being cool and popular.

2. the real definition- someone who loves to skateboard. not to be confused with a sk8er (see the above definition). real skaters are very talented people who do it for the love of it and not the image. if you become good enough, you can get sponsored and eventually turn pro. skating can change your life.

a person that simply likes to skate and doesnt care about anything else, what people think of him or what goes on. a real skater could care less about his appearence, all he needs is his skate board and a nice skate spot. so forget the stupid shopping for skate clothes just to look like a skater, because thats going to come off as a poser. a real skater only needs his skateboard and doesnt worry about being one.

i was going over at my friends house because hes a skater and has a nice rail.
