When an individual of the male sex proceeds to explain something/ some situation to a woman that she most likely knew already and most certainly did not ask for such an explanation. May be condescending but not always.

Male: You know actually Sigmund Freud had many many children isn't that something? He was well known for blah blah blah blah
Female: Did not ask for a ,mansplaining session but go off

A term used to describe when a male explains something to a feminist that said feminist doesn't like, agree with, or want to hear. Typically used as a way to dismiss any argument or topic point a man may have.

Mansplaining is when a dumbass who doesn't actually himself understand something tries to trick other people who are actually smarter than them into believing he knows what the fuck he is talking about. Often done in an overbearing and/or chauvinistic way.

Mansplaining is the act of a man explaining something he may not really know to a woman who does, and the assumption behind it that knowledge is somehow inherent in the male condition, paralleling a void of knowledge waiting to be filled in the female condition.

When a male identifying person spends way too much time explaining something that is simple, or that is uninteresting to anyone (usually female identifying); also when a male spends way too much time explaining something to a female, who knows more about the subject than the male, because of the deeply embedded assumption that men "know more" than women
(Friend): How was your date?
(Straight Cis Woman): Oh, it was ok. He spent about 40 minutes mansplaining menustration to me.
