New-age Hippie

A combination of modern hippie and new-age ideals. Generally someone who loves nature and feels very strongly about protecting the environment. They're fans of meditation and yoga. They're very spiritual, often believing in crystal healing, chakras, natural medicine, etc. Many of these spiritual beliefs have origins in both Eastern and Indigenous religions, though you can be a new-age hippie of any or no religion. They are also advocates for human rights and non-violence.

"Why do you carry all these crystals with you?"
"Oh, they help with my anxiety and protect me from negative energy! I'm a bit of a new-age hippie."

Gothic Hippie

A gothic hippie is the best of both words.
I was raised by Hippie parents, but my dad is also very gothic in style. I'm in my late 30s. So that can give you an idea of my parents age.

I am a gothic hippie, and I have been one my entire life. Being a girl, I tend to wear a wide variety of clothing. One day I can be in a pair of bell bottom jeans and a rock band shirt, the next a black broomstick skirt and a nice flowing shirt on top. My music is across the board depending on mood. I can listen to meditation one moment and Rob Zombie the next. Really it is across the board. Hippie Goths don't have to be just pagans either. I am Catholic, and am very devout. I am about Peace love and happiness. I do love history and the victorian era as someone else wrote.LOL But I do also love to read. Sci-fi, horror,classics, and I don't love romance unless its about some form of vampire lust. I have a dark humor. I love Renfaires too. So, like I said I am exactly what the name says Gothic hippie..the best of both worlds.

Youtube Hippie

Someone who deliberately searches for youtube videos involving hunting, fishing, usage of water, or construction, and complains about killing animals / wasting water / using up land when they know nothing about overpopulation or the environment other than what they've seen in Disney movies.

Youtube Hippie: "I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU SHOT THAT BOAR, IT'S A LIVING CREATURE YOU MONSTER"

Intelligent Person: "Our state is extremely overpopulated by wild boars. They kill at least 50 people each year, and many would starve to death if not for population control"

Modern Day Hippie

a person knowledgable of the 60's and 70's and shares those values today. This person can take part in being a vegitarian or vegan, listening to music that envolves struggle or uplifting rhythms in times of struggle, respecting all creatures in whatever religion, believing in rastafarian religion, standing up for what's right, and always keeping the peace.

A corporate hippie is a person who embraces the "hippie" attitude (peace, love, understanding, diversity, non-violence, the greater good, environmental awareness, etc.) but is fully integrated into the corporate world. Corporate hippies seek to prove that social awareness and the private sector can coexist.
