Ebonics is an attempt to ruin the beautiful English language, which has been pulled by uneducated, generally illiterate people, who usually are thugs, pimps, thieves etc. It is very common. It is frequent among any population in a large city, in any part of the anglosphere, or for that matter, nearly anywhere in the world. But it started off with people who didn't learn english very well and lived in the south.

Due to its differences from standard English, people often mistakenly believe it to be nothing but a lazy and ignorant tongue. (It doesn't help that Ebonics has become trendy amongst illiterate teenagers who assume that "izzle", an infix which was invented only a few years ago, comprises the entirety of the dialect.) Others try to assume Ebonics in an attempt to look hardcore. However, most people who use Ebonics speak it as a mother tongue, and in this way it is as valid and organized a dialect as any other.
