This term is often used in, but is not restricted
to, legal endeavors. Because of its Latin origin,
the term's connotation is one of 'seriousness'.

The term mixes identity and credentials with
honesty and ability to get the job done to
create a highly favorable impression.

She walked into the room, forthwith handed
the committee chair her bonafides, a resumé
she had worked on for hours in anticipation
of this moment of expression/impression.

Bowah

unknown origin but as of 2010 in Fitchburg Ma. a group of kids from a program known as SummerUp, particularly Longsjo Parksite, often poked each other as a game and exclaimed "Bowah!" (pronounced Bow-Wah!) it is often used as a greeting or hello.If you know or have had someone "Bowah" with you then you are of special importance, considering it was but a group of kids who created this saying.

Jay-Z: "Whats up Jonah?"

Jonah looks at Jay-Z and pokes him saying "Bowah!"

Jay-Z:" Aight I see how it is... Bowah!"
