wikiventure

noun. An adventure through wikipedia, usually started by looking something specific up, but eventually taking hours and only ending when the articles get too boring or you force yourself to stop. Related to a wikiwander, but usually with more zeal or interest.

My boss gave me the day off and I was looking something up, but it turned into a wikiventure. I ended up wasting the whole day, but it was worth it!

We have a few hours to kill; let's go on a wikiventure!

wikiwander

The act or process of looking something up in a wiki site, most usually Wikipedia, and then following a trail from there based on entry links which catch your attention.

"I looked up Suzuki motorcycles in Wikipedia and read that it was started in the Shizuoka Prefecture, who's entry told me that a massive earthquake occurs every 100 to 150 years and that the last one was 146 years ago. This prompted my interest in big earthquakes and the wikiwander went from there."

A game played on wikipedia, where players both try to get to s specific article by clicking random atricle, and then navigation to the article, by only clicking on blue links on the article page.

I went on wikipedia and discovered that yukon cornelius wasn't looking for silver and gold, but peppermint. It was supposedly a deleted scene. I wondered why he always licked the end of the axe! It was a wikipiphany!
