An AI- controlled green coloured creature in the game Minecraft, which was made by Mojang. When a player gets too close to it (3 blocks away), it hisses and flashes until it explodes. They have a bad reputation for destroying structures made by players or players. This makes them popular throughout the Minecraft fandom.

Jim: Hey Ben, why are you in a bad mood?
Ben: A creeper blew up my Minecraft house! I painstakingly built it for 8 hours!
