Get the daisy chain smoker mug.The original Chain Lightning spell dates back to 1st Edition AD&D's Unearthed Arcana by Gary Gygax, and dates back to 1985. It is a sixth level spell, and causes 1d6/level damage per level of the caster to its primary target (or half on a successful save vs. magic). It will branch out to nearby targets in a chain pattern, each subsequent strike doing one less 1d6 per branch, with as many branches as the caster has levels and will continue arcing until it is exhausted. It can be a tricky spell to use because it can hit allies or even the caster himself or herself.
The wizard casts a chain lightning spell, but since there are only a few enemies, one bolt in the chain strikes him instead.
