Get the barred out mug.Pamela Des Barres (formerly Miller) was born in the right place at the right time. She came into the world as a California native, in the amazing 60's. She loved rock 'n' roll from the moment she saw Elvis Presly. After Elvis, she fell for Paul McCartney. After The Beatles, it was The Rolling Stones. Then a friend of hers introduced her to Captain Beefheart, the first real live "rock star" she ever met. She had fallen for rock stars, and, well wanted to please them. She got what she wanted. She slept with rockstars such as Jim Morrison, Keith Moon, Jimmy Page, Noel Redding, and Mick Jagger, among others.
She had an all girl band, one of the first all girl rock bands, the GTO's. (GTO stood for many things, on of which is Girls Together Outrageosly)
Finally, she settled down with rocker Michael Des Barres. She soon after had a son, Nick Des Barres.
I'm With The Band: Confessions of a Groupie was her first tell-all book. She has written 3 other books, Take Another Little Piece of My Heart: A Groupie Grows Up, Rock Bottom: Dark Moments in Music Babylon and Carved in Rock.

Syd Barrett was the original singer, songwriter, and guitarist for the group. Yep, I think everyone else pretty much hit the nail on the head, except for a few points.
Many artists have acknowledged Barrett's influence on their work. Paul McCartney and Pete Townshend were early fans; Jimmy Page, David Bowie, Brian Eno, and The Damned all expressed interest in working with him at some point during the 1970s. In fact, Bowie recorded a cover of "See Emily Play" on his 1973 album Pin Ups. On a VH1 program, honoring rock bands and artists, Pete Townshend gave a speech honoring Syd Barrett, and telling a story where he told Eric Clapton that he had to come see this guy play, who was Barrett. Townshend called Barrett legendary. Barrett as a guitarist was remarkable for his free-form style in playing chords (and also for the use of echo, tapes and other effects): his rhythm guitar, as well as his often minimalist and dissonant solos, are seen even today as a major influence on punk, post-punk, and similar scenes.
Syd died on July 7th, 2006 due to "complications arising from his diabetes." It has been said that the family specifically did not want the remaining members of Pink Floyd to attend the funeral, as they blamed them for Syd's downward cycle.

Get the barren mug.(city) - Capital of Catalunya, an autonomous region of Spain. Economically and financially, one of the most important cities in Europe, and the biggest harbour in the mediterranean.
Playing an important role in many historical events, Barcelona is not only large beaches and all-night parties, it held the 1992 Olympic games and it has been hometown of artists like Miró. Birthplace of the modernist architectural movement, it has always been in the avantgarde.
Much more can be said of this wonderful city, but the only way of getting to Barcelona's heart, is by visiting it, its inhabitants are looking forward to seeing you there!
