Old person, usually of grandfather age defined by an ability to nap through nearly any life situation. The term was given to describe the iron grasp such a 'grain grippa' has to their wooden rocking chair during such a siesta.

Kick in his door, steal his wallet or crank up the hit list, that grain grippa ain't gonna wake up for nobody.

The Grips

A condition in which a person experiences crippling stomach cramps, but are unable to take a shit. Will often have you wishing for sweet death and cursing yourself for having those Chili Cheese Fries for lunch. That chocolate milkshake probably didn't help matters either. Can last for several hours or in extreme cases, several days (The Raging Grips). Rest assured, when the bottom drops out though be prepared because shit is about to seriously go down (pun intended). Usually following a case of the grips is a condition called "Shotgun Disorder".

I don't know what the put in that cheeseburger but I've got a case of the grips that'll have you running for cover.

The act of putting one's hands upon wood grain, an often faux-wood type of molding often found in luxury automobiles, especially on the steering wheel. However, in some cases, the wood is actually real. Gripping grain is often paired with leaning to one's right while driving.

If you're driving down Peachtree Road on a saturday night, you better be gripping grain.
