Receiving a smile from someone only because they were previously laughing/smiling at something else. A very embarassing mistake.

I was so happy that he smiled at me, until i realized it was just a leftover smile

Coon Smile

From a Brooks and Dunn song "Hillbilly Deluxe". Coon Smile refers to a raccoon smile. When a raccoon smiles it looks a little cute, but a little devious at the same time. No racial references are applied to "Coon Smile"
