Machine Gun Typing

Rapid stop and go typing that one does when instant messaging. Can be identified by the tell tale sounds of:

tappity-tappity-tappity-tappity-tappity-tap-tap-tap-CLICK
*pause*
tappity-tappity-tappity-tappity-tap-tap-tap-CLICK
*pause*
tappity-tappity-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-tap-CLICK
and so on...

Named because it sounds like and has a similar rhythm to firing an automatic weapon. Usually not that annoying, but can be incredibly irritating when done by that lazy co-worker always slacking off at work or that college roommate that IMs until 5am every night.
Also known simply as "machine gunning".

Coworker 1: "Can you assist us with this project? We need everybody's help, because there's a ton of work."

Coworker 2: "I'm really busy right now. Kind of overwhelmed."

Coworker 3: "Bullshit! All you're doing is IMing your friends. It's pretty damn obvious by your constant machine gunning. Now do your frikkin' job."

I really needed to crash because I had the spins from partying too hard, but I was kept up all night by my herb of a roommate machine gun typing to girls he'll probably never meet in real life.

For all those times you were stuck on the john hoping against hell for that number 2 to just slide out nice and easy and end your misery, this would be the expression used.

Inspired by deus ex machina or basically the idea of a god coming down from the sky to end the story.

"Where is a deuce ex machina when you need one? My meeting starts in five minutes!"

"OMG. It must have been by the sweet atoning grace of a deuce ex machina that I passed that shit."

Ex-Lax is the pill form of the deuce ex machina.

Machinist

Simply put, a machinist uses tools to make other tools. Some machine tools used are the milling machine, lathe, surface grinder, CNC mill and CNC turning centres, among others.

A machinist cuts, drills, taps, reams, bores, mills, turns, deburrs, files, grinds, programs, and assembles metals, plastics, wood, and any number of exotic materials used in consumer goods, automotive, aerospace, and medical areas of industry.

Machinists--unlike machine operators--are skilled tradesmen. They are required to have a solid background in problem-solving skills using technical math, metrology (measurement), as well as CNC programming (Mastercam, Solidworks, etc.) editing, and operation.
