In dialogue, the phenomenon in which a person slowly begins to rant (speaking more and more passionately, for longer and longer periods without stopping, and on increasingly tangential subjects). Specifically, when said person does not intend to rant and does not realize that is what said person is doing.

Rantcreep is the internet's mildew; It's very hard to keep out.

Ratticlot

A word of Jamaican origin for somebody who is stupid and unaware of things around them. If you call somebody a ratticlot, you're basically telling them they have no idea what the hell they are doing. The "r" has to be rolled on the tongue for full, Jamaican effect.
