DPD also is marked by helplessness, submissiveness, a need to be taken care of and for constant reassurance, and an inability to make decisions.

Avoidance of personal responsibility; avoidance of jobs that require independent functioning and positions of responsibility

Intense fear of abandonment and a sense of devastation or helplessness when relationships end; often move right into another relationship when one ends

Over-sensitivity to criticism

Pessimism and lack of self-confidence, including a belief that they are unable to care for themselves

Avoidance of disagreeing with others for fear of losing support or approval

Inability to start projects

Difficulty being alone

Willingness to tolerate mistreatment and abuse from others

multiple personalities

Multiple personality, or multiple personality disorders (MPD) is when a person is displaying two or more seperate personalities.
These personalities often go by different names and the stronger new/stronger personality is often aware of the orignal/others whereas the original personality often just recalls 'blacking out'.

Psychologists Thigpen and Cleckley conducted a study on a woman claiming to have 'blinding headaches', which concluded she infact was one of the vary rare cases of reported MPD victims. (For further reading, this study can be found here: http://www.holah.co.uk/, and is explained well in the film based on this study 'The Three Faces Of Eve').
(Taken from Thigpen and Cleckley's study on multiple personalities)

During the interview, Eve White who was normally very self-controlled became distressed and asked whether hearing an occasional imaginary voice made her insane.

She reported that she had on several occasions over the last few months briefly heard a voice addressing her. During this conversation Eve White, as if in pain suddenly put both hands to her head. After a tense moment of silence her hands dropped, and the therapist observed a ‘quick, reckless smile’ and in a bright voice she said: ‘Hi there, Doc’

personality disorder

When one's personality traits and/or behavior become rigid and consistently deviate from the expectations of one's society, consistently blunt one's social life and ability to function appropriately in society. Usually manifested before the age of 15 and persisting into adulthood.
Often the result of abusive or otherwise unstable home environments in childhood, as well as from heavy stress, although genetic predisposition may also play a part.

The three main clusters of personality disorders are:
A (odd types)
*paranoid personality disorder (irrationally suspicious and mistrustful)
*schizoid personality disorder (uninterested in socializing or pleasure)
*schizotypal personality disorder (odd behavior/odd thoughts)
B (dramatic types)
*antisocial personality disorder (disregard for laws and for the rights of others)
*histrionic personality disorder (attention-seeking exhibitionist)
*borderline personality disorder (extreme "black and white" thinking and emotional instability)
*narcissistic personality disorder (grandiose and lacking empathy)
C (anxious types)
*avoidant personality disorder (shy, insecure, and highly sensitive)
*dependent personality disorder (psychological dependence on others)
*obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (rigid conformity to rules, morality, and orderliness)
"Insanity can be cured. Personality disorders are so inextricably entwined with the heart and mind and soul that it is well-nigh impossible to excise them."

-Ann Rule, "Small Sacrifices" page 442

It is preferable to be crazy, since "crazy" can be treated; the conscience can't grow back for the sociopath (antisocial personality), the histrionic won't give up the limelight, the narcissist won't leave the mirror, and the borderline personality mainly thinks in black and white terms.

personality trend

Like a clothing trend, but for your personality. A certain persona that everyone wants to have. Usually happens with girls who want guys to like them.
First, all girls wanted to be perfect, then they wanted to be clumsy, then they wanted to be confident, then they wanted to have a lack of confidence, then they wanted to be normal, then they wanted to be happy all the time, then music was their entire life, and now they always want to be depressed and have issues.
Screw personality trends, JUST BE YOURSELF!

Big Personality

It means that the person is loud, fun, outspoken, and outgoing. It's not a bad thing at all but sometimes it can be annoying. It also means that the person is very attractive (looks and more) to others. The person could also have a very hot sex appeal. The person with a big personality will find him/herself surrounded by others seeking his/her company.
