Lurker

Originally coined on the net in 2016, lurker is the term for those viewers in livestreams whose counts show in the total viewers yet who haven't interacted by liking or subscribing.

As a channel mod, in trying to hype our viewers watching but hiding. I came up with, "Come on, lurkers! I know you're there. Hit that thumbs up to show some love!"

I started using "lurkers" for the shy people in chat. It worked and caught on, spreading across the internet like wildfire. That's the true origin of "lurker" as it applies to the lurking in the chat.

Lurker Bee 

A lurker bee is an office worker who roams the hallways to peer into meeting rooms or randomly joins conference calls to be nosy.

The opposite of a worker bee. Instead of providing value to the organization they spend their time being nosy about what everyone else is doing.

We had a random lurker bee join our meeting who did nothing but surf the internet and distract the other members.

When one has been on Myspace or Facebook for too long and a sharp pain begins to tingle the back of the person's neck.

lurker deer 

A deer that follows you yet does not join the conversation. It is just "there". Technically it is not the deers fault because the deer cannot speak, but it still follows you. Most people find this cute. We call these people crazy.
