mellow, ordinary, quiet - but in a funky kind of way
How was your weekend? it was pretty low-fi
low-fi by thom chapman September 29, 2003
Something creative made cheaply, independently or on a very low-budget.
Checkout my latest low-fi music video on youtube.

I've been playing around with a drum machine and some broken old toy instruments to create a very low-fi sound.

Low-fi means more inventiveness and less pressure.

I'm putting together a last minute low-fi multi-media gig for SXSW- you never know who might show up.

a life style of someone who fosters imperfection and renounces perfectionism due to personal blocks: like chronical laziness and conscious mediocrity.

a way of basing life and the products of actions around the content rather than the packaging.
un matched socks and stained trousers are very low-fi

solemn low five

The act of quietly and calmly low fiving others when a location or event does not permit for a loud and/or enthusiastic high five (e.g., a funeral, a library, church, class).
Barney: High five!
Ted: Dude, we're at a wake.
Barney: Sorry. (whispers) Solemn low five.

Low five

Celebratory gesture made by two people, slapping each other's lowered hands.
Opposite of "high five", but still carries the same social meaning, often sarcastic.
Two frieds slap each others hands and say "low five"

uhholy low-five

When walking in a line or near others, your arm accidentally dangles into the junk of another person.
Whoops! I didn't mean to give you the unholy low-five here in this DMV line. My bad.
