skid-hopping 

(verb) Holding onto the back or back bumper of a car or truck while it drives on a snow covered road. Often the person will squat down while being pulled. The person is essentially skiing horizontally on their shoes. Very very dangerous. Less common now that cars do not have separate rear bumpers.
During the snowfall my friends and I went out skid-hopping until the police came.
