Blitzed off kratom or Mitragyna Speciosa, a drug made from dried leaves of the aforementioned tree. Produces mild stimulant and opioid effects.
Legal in most of the US, kratom is great for many other things beyond just getting high. Opioid addicts use it as a weaning tool and people like me use it as a substitute for dangerous pharmaceutical painkillers. Also makes you very happy, so it'
s also great for depression, in smaller doses.
Prolonged use can cause
constipation and dependence, though the withdrawals are much more manageable than traditional opiates. It may also cause mild dissociation and depersonalization with extended use due to
minor activity at NMDA receptors.
Though very rare, a
small set of people
will experience severe hepatotoxicity from kratom. It's advised to try a very
small dose first and observe for any hepatotoxic symptoms as they
will usually occur shortly after the first dose. If it doesn't happen, you're probably in the clear and
will never experience this.
Overall, like weed, kratom has a remarkably low toxicity relative to dose and is much safer than many powerful opiates. The only deaths from Kratom use either definitely had other substances involved or was inconclusive as the culprit.
Use responsibly and enjoy being Kratzed!
