Walking on dead grass

Knowingly doing something you shouldn’t be doing, and not caring enough to even attempt the easier, “right” way, even when it’s right there in front of you.
I knew I should’ve quit months ago, but I kept walking on dead grass anyway.

Server Walking on Eggshells

The Walk on Eggshells Theory applied to online community servers—Discord, Slack, Telegram, etc. In such spaces, eggshells are often set by a small number of moderators or influential users whose subjective interpretations of rules become de facto law. Members learn to check every message for possible violation, avoid certain topics, and self‑censor to maintain belonging. The result is a low‑trust environment where the fear of being banned or publicly shamed replaces authentic interaction.
Example: “The server had 47 pages of rules and moderators who banned first and asked later. Everyone was Server Walking on Eggshells; the chat was silent except for gifs.”

Culture of Walking on Eggshells

A cultural condition where hypervigilance and self‑censorship have become the norm in public and semi‑public spaces—online and off. In this culture, people assume that any statement will be judged harshly, that context will be stripped, and that the cost of a misstep is permanent. The culture is maintained by mutual surveillance, call‑out rituals, and institutional policies that prioritize risk avoidance over free expression. It produces a chilling effect on discourse and a pervasive anxiety about speaking at all.
Example: “The university had no explicit ban on controversial speakers, but the Culture of Walking on Eggshells meant nobody dared invite anyone.”

Walking Hard-On

Having an erect penis when standing up and/or walking/running. The results are usually highly visible and embarrassing. (See pitch a tent.)
Our secretary is so f*cking hot that she gives me wood all the time. She caught me with a walking hard-on the other day. I was so embarrassed.

Walking in on yourself

A term used to describe when a person suddenly realises what a mistake probably making by asking "What are you doing?" to themselves as if they'd just walked in to witness themselves acting this way.
Tim: I just had a moment of clarity, you know, I woke up. It's like... you know when you have an orgasm on your own? You know, you're sort of lying on the sofa watching some porn movie you bought on a drunken lonely night in Soho, and you're lying there and everything's going really great, you're getting totally turned on by these absurdly graphic images, everything seems so right, and suddenly - phht! Bingo! You wake up. And you're lying there sweating, desperately looking for the tissue which you know is still in your pocket, and the remote control which is somewhere on the floor, and it's like walking in on yourself, you know? It's just like "What're you doing?" That's how I felt tonight feeling my heart miss a beat everytime the door opened. "What the fuck are you doing?"

Walking hard-on

'A lesbian who is attracted to nearly every woman. If she had a dick, it would constantly be erect'
B: that girl is so hot
W: you said that about the bitch at Jamba Juice

B: so! She was hot too!
W: you're a walking hard-on
