Verbal hopscotch. The art of distraction, with the goal of diverting attention away from a fault and towards the glittering veneer of hollow talking points which dazzle but do nothing in terms of answering the question presented.

The dude had no clue how to answer my question, so he spent the next five minutes palinizing.

2. Appointing or promoting an unqualified person to a job or position as a result of political influence.

Definition 1:
Jane: I just palinated Chuck for president of the Parent Teacher Association! He's just soooo cute!

Dick: She's on the ballot for condo association treasurer? Who palinated her for that?

Definition 2:
Member of Nonprofit Board of Directors: We had to palinate Joey to CFO to keep his father from firing the whole board.

Palinite 

A member of the so-called Tea Party, a group of radical social conservatives masquerading as deficit hawks.

Established as the right-wing's answer to Senator John McCain and Sarah Palin, the Republican Party's ineffectual Vice Presidential nominee in 2008, losing the general election to a moderate Illinois Senator who was charged by the conservative media as a socialist Marxist dictator.

The Palinite's complaints about President Obama's policies, which led to the resurgence of the American economy, clearly show an underlying hatred for him on a non-political level.

He palinized his position on living wills and health care directives. Like Sarah Palin, he was for living wills before he was against them.

Palinize 

To attack a person for his or her conservative values by focusing an inordinate amount of attention on a single example of that person falling short (or being perceived as falling short) of the values they espouse. The term is derived from excessive criticism of Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin by the mainstream media and other public figures after it was learned that Palin's unwed teenage daughter was pregnant.

Person 1: Dude, have you checked out that Carrie Prejean "nude" pic? There's barely even any side-boob going on there. She showed more skin at the pageant itself!

Person 2: Yeah, you just knew they were gonna Palinize her after that Miss USA thing where she said she didn't support gay marriage.
