used in the trucking industry - especially on the CB radio as truckers talk to each other.
A bird dog can be noun which means a radar detecter.
Or can be a verb which means a law enforcement officer is paying particular attention to a trucker
noun: "I've got my bird dog on."
verb: "That cop has been bird dogging me for the last five miles."

The act of watching or staring at a worker as they perform a job. Is often preformed by the foreman, supervisor, or anyone in a position of power. A totally unjust act that doesn’t actually help the job along, and just irritates and pisses off the workers
Look at Andy over there bird doggin the guys. What a fucking douche.

Andy would sit and bird dog the guys, even though the job was on schedule just to be a dick.
