Walden 

Walden is a town in downstate (or upstate depending on how you see it) New York. Part of the larger town of montgomery, walden is kind of a shitty place where people only smoke/sell weed, play basketball, and fight over stupid shit that doesn't matter. It's not dangerous, it's just shitty. Kids go to valley central high school with kids from the the village of montgomery, which is much nicer and you can walk around without seeing a crackhead, drug deal, or some dude blasting drill out of his car at a basketball court with 30 other people, while only 6 are actually playing. It may sound shitty, but some of the best empanadas you'll get outside of nyc here, and you can get a pretty good chop cheese. There is also a cool smoke spot and a bunch of abandoned buildings. During the summer the town also has nighttime basketball, but fights break out all the fucking time. Anyway, it's small, shitty, and is looked down upon by some people. It has its moments, but overall stay away cause your not missing much.

Person 2: isn't walden kinda shitty?
Person 1: yeah but there's gonna be 30 grown men playing basketball at the elementary school court listening to sha ek and smoking weed.
Person 1: oh ok we'll go then.

Walden University

One of those diploma mill schools that sends out junk mail to try to trick you into thinking that it is a real college.

In reality, they are a real school like a cubic zirconia is a real diamond. They are to colleges like Showgirls is to fine cinema. If they were a food product, they would be a frozen TV dinner. Attending Walden University is like telling the world that your local community college was alright, but you just didn't feel like studying that hard.

The only way that you could possibly go lower than Walden University is if you didn't go at all.

In my email today is three Viagra spams, two about refinancing my house and one Walden University spam email.

Walden University

A marketing company masquerading as a school. Anytime anyone says anything bad about them online a bunch of fake people, who all sound exactly the same, show up to defend it.

The school is the bottom of the barrel of accredited colleges. It is the community college of online schools. The only reason to go to Walden University is because you can't get in anywhere else.

This review will never be number #1 on Urban Dictionary because Walden University staff members are paid to scour the internet and purge honest information about their school.

Walden University

One of the oldest diploma mills. Walden University = the degree is not worth the paper it is written on. Walden University = you won't get a job as a result of your education.

My half sister got all her degrees from online universities that were diploma mills. First, American Public/American Military University for her first two degrees then Walden University for her Ph.D. They accepted her credits from her community college days and gave her credit for "life experience." So, she really only completed one year of education at APU/AMU for her Bachelors, then she completed barely a year for her masters. Then, her sister (my other half sister) went to AMU/APU shortly after and submitted the same work the other sister submitted. One of the two pursued her Ph.D. at Walden and thinks it was legitimate. Later, she was laughed out of job interviews and figured out her program was not accredited and she wasted her time and money in the program, since no one will hire her. Also, no one will accept her credits from Walden University.

She claimed she was trying to be the first one in the family to get an education. I guess the type of education didn't matter. I graduated from traditional colleges and universities and went on to get my law degree (a juris doctorate) and a post-doctoral degree (all from traditional schools where people knew me), and I got a very nice, fun, and high paying job. I guess she didn't get the memo.
