Whale Potential

A girl that is not overweight at present, but shows great potential to get fat. This is usually best observed in skinny women with huge "cankles." The theory being that God gave her big calves and ankles to support future weight gains.
"Man he better not marry her, she has huge whale potential. She drops out one kid and she'll look like Roseanne Barr."

Potential Ax Murderer

A Potential Ax Murderer (a.k.a. PAM) is someone you have been introduced to through friends, Tinder or online dating, but haven't yet met in person. Until you can check them out yourself, you always have to be cautious in case they turn out to be a Potential Ax Murderer or Bunny Boiler.
P: Have you met that hottie you were matched with on Tinder?
R: Nah. We'll probably hook up later in the week.
P: Watch out she doesn't turn out to be a Potential Ax Murderer!

Dyke Potential

A female who exhibits lesbian like qualities or actions but does not admit to being a lesbian.
-"Did you see Lisa's new haircut and vest?"

-"Yea she definitely has dyke potential."

Wasted potential zone

You and the person have chemistry with each other and maybe flirt but the relationship never goes anywhere and you feel stuck
Girl: It’s your choice if you want me I am here
Guy: I’m good
Girl: This is what I like to refer to as the wasted potential zone

She got potential

When a person looks at another (usually female) person that's younger or that's underage.
Fella 1: bro, "I went to Six Flags yesterday."

Fella 2: "Nice, show me a pic."

Fella 1: " Here's me, and that's my sister."

Fella 2: " Damn, she got potential."

Fella 1: " What the fuck!"

Potentially

The word used as an escape when commonly found in a tricky conversation. An easy answer for a yes or no question without consequences. The better form of Maybe. Often most affective when said while using hand gestures.
Speaker 1: "Did you punch yourself in the face while dancing awkwardly?"
Speaker 2: "um... eh. Potentially..."

perceived potential

Something anticipated or hoped for without any solid proof or promise.
You hire someone based on their perceived potential, only later you get a solid proof of their capabilities or promise.

When you pursue a girl, you want to date her based on perceived potential of her in your life. Only later you find out who she really is and if it's a good fit or not.

Before you move to a new location (city, area, country), the city has certain perceived potential in your mind. Only after living there for a while, you validate your hopes or assumptions.
