1. Ominous is a sign or often is a sign of something bad happening or that will happen.

2. It could also be used when describing something, somewhere or someone that gives you unsettling or dread feelings.
1. Those extremely dark clouds are an inauspicious sign of something ominous will happen.

2. Everytime i pass by that person I get a bad feeling and feel unsettled, he's really ominous.
