Scharnhorst was a battleship built for Nazi Germany's Kriegsmarine. She can be alternatively described as a battleship or battlecruiser. She was laid down on 6/15/1935, launched on 10/3/1936, and commissioned on 1/7/1939. During Scharnhorst's first operation, she sank the auxiliary cruiser HMS Rawalpindi. She and her sister engaged the British battlecruiser Renown, and sank the aircraft carrier Glorious, as well as her escorts Acasta and Ardent. During that, Scharnhorst achieved one of the longest-range naval gunfire hits in history. Scharnhorst's final battle was in 1943.

Wow. Nothing on our girl.
Lexington, a battlecruiser turned aircraft carrier that is super famous for some reason. First operational aircraft carrier in the USN (United States Navy), and built in the early 20s. She marked the beginning of the USA's unhealthy obsession with aircraft carriers. Her sister ship, USS Saratoga (CV-3, Lexington is CV-2), survived WWII, and was sunk in Operation Crossroads. Lexington was sunk in the Battle of the Coral Sea. Both of them were chads.

Person 1: Lexington.
Person 2: Kentucky?
Person 1: The ship, retard. If I had meant Kentucky, I would have said it.

Probably the most famous of the Iowa-class battleships, and maybe even the most famous battleship in the world, USS Missouri is an American icon. She fought in WWII, the Korean war, and the Gulf war. From her bulbous bow to her huge 16"/50 caliber mark 7 guns, she has an impressive silhouette. With a top speed of 33 knots (around 40 MPH), she (along with her sister ships) is the fastest battleship in the world. Her guns, nicknamed the Long Nines, weigh 239,000 pounds (without the breech) up to 267,900 pounds (with breech), and fired 2,700 pound 16" shells. She still exists today, in the form of a museum ship in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.

Someone who wouldn't hold their breath if they were you. They'll forget, but they'll never forgive you. They're asking "Don't you know, don't you know?". True friends stab you in the front.

Bismarck. Perhaps the most feared vessel ever built. With a main armament of 8 15" SK C/34 main guns, laid out in a 4x2 configuration, she became infamous almost instantly. Best known for the sinking of the British battlecruiser HMS Hood, she was an impressive vessel. She was fast, heavily armed, heavily armored, and a great metal beast. She has collected 4 things over the years: a Sabaton song (aptly named "Bismarck"), waifu status (thanks Azur Lane), fame, and is also an SCP (SCP-4127). She has gone down (no pun intended) in history as an icon of naval power. She has a lesser known sister ship, Tirpitz. Tirpitz was in Norway when she was attacked by aircraft and capsized. The final battle of Bismarck occurred in 4 phases: the first, when British carrier Ark Royal caught up with her and attacked her with Swordfish torpedo bombers, which disabled her steering gear and jammed her rudders in a turning position, the second phase being the shadowing of British cruisers (causing no real damage), the third phase when she was cornered by British battleships Rodney and King George V, as well as the cruisers Norfolk and Dorsetshire. She was sunk in this phase. The fourth phase was that of planes from the Luftwaffe attacking the retreating British ships, resulting in the loss of a destroyer.
