F--

Like the F-, the F-- is the worst grade possible. However, an F- can be given for an assignment that wasn't turned in or had little or no effort put into it. An F-- not only denotes an awful grade, but signals that the content, no matter how much work was put into it, was so awful that a mere F- wouldn't be painful enough for its recipient.

The boy was stunned when he received an F-- on his paper; he had stayed up all night working on it.

A ludicrous object or concept that can be called a 'joke' because its sheer stupidity is ridiculous enough to make a person laugh.

The idea of letting a 'partnership' of homosexual dogs receive the same benefits as straight canines is a joke.

Second Person

The part of speech that is used when speaking directly to another person. The second person utilizes the word 'you' (and, below the Mason-Dixon line, 'y'all').

I tried referring to myself in the second person when bragging about all of my outstanding test scores, but my friend thought that I was complimenting him.
