Naked Run

An event at UC Santa Cruz that takes place every year the night of the first rain. A group of students goes around from college to college, collecting more crazy people on the way, in nothing but their birthday suits.

I couldn't believe my eyes when a member of the Naked Run came running into my dorm, trying to recruit more insane people.

I'm over it

An expression used when someone is tired of talking about something; another way of saying, "Ok, this conversation is pointless, let's talk about something else."

Sally: Oh my God, Pam is sooooo annoying. She always....

15 Minutes later

Sally: I can't believe that anyone could be as annoying as her...
Donna: Yeah. Well, I'm over it.

skipper

The person who steers a sailboat or is in charge of giving directions to the other people on the boat.

The skipper looked quite pleased as he directed his boat across the lake.

tacking

When a sailboat switches back and forth, alternating which side of the boat is facing the wind. Tacking allows a boat to make progress in whichever direction the skipper wishes to go.

The catamaran tacked toward the sunset.

When someone is really happy or excited about something.

When Billy got a shiny new bike for Christmas, he was stoked.

the falling leaf

When someone is first learning how to snowboard and they are scared shittless to attempt carving, so they go all the way down the slope on their heal side by first heading downhill with their dominant foot, and then their other foot, immitating the motion of a falling leaf.

Sarah was tired of falling on her ass every time she tried to carve, so she just did the falling leaf all the way down the slope.

edumacation

Used to refer to an education that someone received at a crappy school, or a lack of education all together.

I received my edumacation at Willits High School.
