Man's wife- I didn't kill my husband. It wasn't me, it was the one armed, I mean it was the alligator, whatever. I have an airtight alibi to back that up. I tried to tell that idiot not to go in the high water, but he doesn't pay me any attention, and that's what he gets. Disarmed and dismembered at the same time.

Climate change
Trees being clear cut for development, farming, or any other purpose isn't climate change, it's just simply people that don't think they have enough dollar signs (developers especially). It's people that don't think they're part of the problem, they have a more positive view of themselves (though they don't see their view of themselves as narcissistic).
As long as people see dollar signs where a family of trees stands, trees are endangered. The kinds of people that clear cut them aren't going to respect them any time soon, they're more concerned about the respect they think they will get once they make money out of the trees (as money does come from paper, which comes from trees). The trees are the underdogs, not the people. Climate change is a fictional way of thinking, a way for humans to say they're in control of everything in the environment.

Manipulation
Criticism is only unfair to somebody else when someone finds no faults in themselves because it is manipulation.

Pawn
Someone that supports someone that is trying to put their small business out of business by becoming the next Uber, thinking they're helping a sweet person (one that speaks their language). Someone that supports someone that has an out with the old, in with the new mentality.
Once they quit being her pawn, they realized they didn't miss any of it. Supporting someone's dreams that is trying to destroy yours isn't doing the right thing, it isn't helping anybody but one person out.

Pawn
Somebody that supports someone that is trying to put their small business out of business by becoming the next Uber, thinking they are supporting a sweet person, and not someone who wants to get filthy rich. Supporting someone's dreams that wants to destroy yours isn't doing the right thing, especially when all they dream about is dollar signs.
Once they quit being her pawn or playing her game altogether, they found that they didn't miss any of it.

Cheerwine festival
A festival attended by all groups, black, white, and everything in between, at a time when Confederate statues were still standing, without any incidents. People were getting along better before 2020 than after the statues/history were removed.
People said nothing about the Confederate statues at the time of the Cheerwine festival, they got along fine at the time, and like the statues and businesses, the festival was taken from them.

Puzzle
Part of hell had broken loose during the pestilence, which was concerning since nobody had yet determind which part it was, or where to put it once they got it back with the rest of hell. It was like a puzzle with a piece missing.
