cloud~watching 

Looking at clouds & their movement; enjoying seeing the wonder of the sky.

When cloud~watching, it's ideal to lay down on a lawn chaise. The clouds move not only North, South, East & West but also waft upwards & downwards. It's a very enjoyable activity.

old~fashioned phone 

Back in the 60's, phones were only available in black & desktop style; no buttons but had to be manually dialed.

When I was a kid, we had an old~fashioned phone & we were quite content with it. Some dial phones are still in use today.

One Man's Wilderness

A book & also a film about Richard Proenneke, who lived alone for many winters in a remote Alaskan area accessible only by plane. He built a cabin, made his own tools, had a garden, kept journals about it all. Fantastic real story!

I saw One Man's Wilderness on PBS & got the book from my Mom. Excellent & enthralling!

What a 4 year old said to his Dad, after hearing that phrase from him many times.

The little kid was asserting himself when he said 'I'll show You who's the boss around here; I'M the boss, loudly.
