Racism

1. The hatred of a specific race, nationality or ethnic group or the discrimination against an individual simply because of it. Often it's the former because people say they hate a certain ethnic group but won't unreasonably despise an individual they meet who is from it simply because they are from it.

2. The practice of taking part in races

Laissez-faire Tyranny

When the state is oppressive and the nation is in dire straits but the rulers don't give two shits what goes on anywhere and the government does nothing (except suppress change maybe). It's oppression through inaction, tyranny of negligence. Usually this occurs in a rigid hereditary absolute monarchy where a bunch of inbred fucks can party until they get lynched by peasants, but really anything can end up in such a state.

People have applied the term "laissez-faire tyranny" to the Late Ancien Régime and the Qing Dynasty
