Yo-Yo Math

When schools or states are willing to change their textbooks every other year, as publishers tempt teachers with free resources (and bribe them with airline and cruise tickets).
Getting an entire state to adopt a publisher's set of textbooks is worth millions of dollars, so the sales and marketing personnel would go all out to play yo-yo math with decision makers to get them to choose their titles over those of their competitors.

MASK Is a Four-Letter Word

When non-mask-wearing in public has become a symbol of noncompliance, defiance, or rebellion among members of right-wing political parties or alt-right religious or conspiratorial groups.
Hardcore white racists and supremacists in the US and the West deny the protective health benefits of the mask against the coronavirus—for them, mask is a four-letter word, and donning a mask is a vain habit of the weaklings, who have surrendered their personal rights to the authority.

Faux More Years

Also known as “Trump 2020 2.0.” Trump’s politically incorrect slogan, after failing to extend his White House stay until 2024 in spite of numerous frivolous lawsuits and repeated alleged fraudulent ballots in states where he lost to his older “low energy” presidential rival.
From “four more years” to “faux more years,” Trump 2020 ought to be rechristened Trump 2Ø2Ø, as he’s hoping (and his diehard supporters all maniacally praying and interceding) that a second miracle might be heading his way before 1/20/21—the palindromic date when they might have to escort him out of his temporary residence if he still insisted that he “won” the 2020 election.

Trumpolatry

Also known as “Trump idolatry.” The worship or idolization of Donald J. Trump by millions of blue-collar workers and white evangelicals, not to say, white supremacists and terrorists, who see him as their “political savior”; and the fake respect for him by morally corrupt lawmakers, who daren’t oppose him lest their reelection prospects are dashed.
Trumpolatry may be likened to the American equivalent of the deification of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, when oft-radicalized followers or diehard supporters would faithfully carry the orders of their “anointed” leader.

When the quality of Singapore math textbooks and supplementary titles took a beating in the last one and a half decades, because both local and foreign math editors were reporting to their oft-clueless bosses, who were recruited under the Singapore-India “Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement” (CECA), many of whom with quasi-zero understanding of the Singapore educational system and the local educational publishing industry.
It’s hard to estimate the reputational and economic costs suffered by publishing houses in the aftermath of the Cecanization of Singapore Math: resignation of editors, frustration of authors, rejection of textbooks, brand dilution, and the like.

Red Kidnapping

When mainland Chinese security agents abduct those who publish or promote materials that depict China's communist leaders in a negative light, who are then detained without trial.
In the last two years, President Xi's agents had carried out a number of red kidnappings of booksellers in Hong Kong and Thailand, who didn't like the books they published about the Chinese government.
