In WWI, the 100 yards or so between the trenches of each side was littered with dead bodies. Anyone who enterd here would stand a high chance of getting shot by either side.

No man's land was an area where people were sure to get shot to death.

(n.) a product that could only be made successfully by one company (usually with a reputation in the market for such things), that would trounce any imitations of it, unless these imitations had near ten times the budget.

A convertable yellow saab is a good example.


The Ferrari 250 GTO was also a good example. The GT40 cost ten times a 250 gto.

combat box

(n.) A formation of powerful warships in a tight formation around merchant vessels. Can also be applied to people movement on any level, such as walking, on bikes, driving etc.

In World War II the combat box method was shown to be flawed when U boats would sail under the outer warships and closely attack the merchant vessels.
