A sarcastic nickname for Whiting, Indiana. It has to do with the non-stop cruising on 119th Street that was commonplace in the 1970s.

slushing

Since the 1970s, this was driving a car with wide tires in the centerlane after a snow storm. The centerlane was usually not plowed. This resulted in slush being sprayed into the oncoming traffic.
We went slushing in the delta last night.

I tried going slushing in a honda but the tires weren't wide enough to do any good.

Automagical

An old mainframe phrase from at least the 80s, meaning when things appear automatically like magic. Typically used with netview and JES2 automatic commands.
I put the start of that batch cobol job in JES2 start commands, that job will start automagically every morning at 2:30.

Five Points

This nickname from at least the 1960's for the intersection of Calumet Ave, Indianapolis Blvd and 114th St in Whiting, Indiana. The reason for the nickname is there are five intersections meeting at that point.
There was another shooting down at the bar by Five Points.

I wrecked the Delta when I spun out and hit the fence down at Five Points.

chicamobile

A girl's car. An automobile specifically designed to be driven and owned by girls. Usually small and easy to park.
My brother was going to buy a Honda Fit but my dad told him it was a chicamobile and talked him out of it.

Coffin

A regular automobile such as a Honda Accord or a Toyota Camry. The name refers not to the safety of the car but to the fact that the people driving them don't really live. They are already dead.
My mom wanted to buy a coffin but my dad would let her.

Imam

A prophet or mentor to young males. Typically a male a few years older than the youth he mentors. Usually, he has his own place, a "real job" and a live-in girlfreind.
Kids today have MTV to show them how to be men, all we had was Imam and Buddy.
