Teenage
In our country we just have male and female/'women and children'
Sometimes 20s-30s ppl are called "youth"
Sometimes 20s-30s ppl are called "youth"
(teenage (contd.))
(this is usually when the parents/family elders marry them off, although this is an increasingly autonomous choice today (especially for the men))
BUT
The pressure to marry and have children before she's 30 is still very much there*
*cz here family, parents (especially mother) and generally anyone older than you (firmly 'boomers' per US age standards)** is given divine worship by everyone (heck, we call even unrelated interactions as 'mom' 'older brother' 'older/younger sister' 'aunty' 'uncle' etc.)
And it's quite a religious worship for a supposedly secular country as 'Bharat "Mata"' ('mother' India)
As a result, we have Third Reich-style 'labour' policy for school, work n everything else in between at ALL ages/stages
