NFTmania

Short for “non-fungible token mania.” The urge or rage to own and invest in dear NFTs—and the desire by artists and creators to sell their digital assets at obscene or outrageous prices.
Is NFTmania the modern-day Tulipmania? A get-rich-quick blockchained scheme that would lead many to poverty or bankruptcy.

Singapore Math 3.0

Also known as “Singapore Math in the Metaverse.” When thanks to Web 3.0 technology, virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and non-fungible tokens (NFTs)—backed by blockchain technology to ensure authenticity and ownership—become common currency or key connecting points to the metaverse among math educators and geeky investors.
While Singapore Math 3.0 is still in its diapers, or is still wet so we can’t see its true colors, mathepreneurs can’t afford to be spectators that they miss out on the opportunities and experiences and new revenue streams offered by the new digital Wild West economy.

A math geek’s hashtag used to alert “pi patriots or parasites” that they just posted some factoids or juicy little theorem about mathematics’s beloved constant, which might arouse their interest and even lead some of them to experience an aha!
Guesstimate how many times #π has so far appeared on Twitter since the planet was plagued with Covid-19.

Pi Cemetery

When mathematical conjectures or hypotheses on the number π have finally been proved to be false—any hunches or doubts about them have now been put to rest.
In the last half-century, the piece of land initially allocated for pi cemetery has been enlarged a few times to welcome new dead members on its premises.

Robinhood Publishers

Publishing houses that rob their star authors to pay bonuses to their oft-underpaid and overworked editors and their bosses, using all kinds of creative strategies to avoid getting caught, while family-owned publishers would notoriously overpay themselves and their loved ones or relatives first, but underpay their employees.
Even in low-corruption Singapore, it’s an open secret that Robinhood publishers continue to thrive, because most authors who’ve a sixth sense of being shortchanged couldn’t afford the legal means to suing them for their decades-long shady business practices.

The mathematical equivalent of “Kama Sutra” that even those who are apathetic about or allergic to the number π want to order a copy or two, after it became the post-pandemic bestselling pop math title on Amazon.
Although “Pi Sutra” is filled with juicy pi factoids, reveals some creative ways of making the irrational number exciting even to math-anxious folks, and discuses some easy-to-understand cool theorems on mathematicians’ constant of choice, however, some ultra-MAGA parents have asked their governors to ban the recreational math book in school libraries, because it’s the potential to pervert the minds of teenagers.

£1 + £1 = $2

The parity equation few currency manipulators or speculators ever thought would happen in their lifetime—when the American dollar finally caught up with the British pound.
Punsters have been bees-zy since the British economy started heading south, by divining when the pound would achieve parity with the dollar, or by predicting when £1 + £1 = $2 would occur.
