To get out of a place and/or abandon the responsibility entrusted in that person, likely because of mounting pressure or said person has run out of options.

Buster Douglas went to town on Mike Tyson despite being knocked down earlier.

Any person that takes douchebaggery to another level. The term does not apply to regular douchebags, but rather to the upper echelon douchebags.
