Shin Bet 

Israel's internal security service.
Shin Bet is one of three principal organizations of the Israeli Intelligence Community, alongside Aman (military intelligence) and the Mossad (foreign intelligence service).

- The Janissaries were the elite infantry of the Ottoman Empire.

- The Janissaries were chosen before they reached adulthood from among the Christian population living in Anatolia and the Balkan peninsula to become the elite fighting force of the Ottoman Empire.
The Janissary corps was created by the Sultan Murad I in 1383 and was abolished by Sultan Mahmud II in 1826 in the Auspicious Incident.

Spetsnaz 

An umbrella term for any special forces in Russian.
Historically, the term referred to the military special units controlled by the military intelligence service GRU, the Spetsnaz GRU. Currently, the term is also used to describe any special purpose units or task forces of other ministries (even the Ministry of Emergency Situations special rescue unit), also in some other post-Soviet countries.

Shayetet 13 

The elite commando unit of the Israeli navy.
The Shayetet 13 were involved in the Gaza flotilla raid, the 2006 Lebanon War, the Second Intifada, etc.

M23 Rebels 

- March 23 Movement; named after the date of a failed peace deal in 2009.

- Also known as the Congolese Revolutionary Army.

- An armed rebel militia based in the eastern regions of the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The group was formed by former soldiers of the Congolese Army. In 2012, they took control of the provincial capital Goma, however, they lost it a few days afterwards.
The M23 Rebels are currently involved in an armed struggle with the DRC government.

Free Syrian Army 

An armed mob of mercenaries and hoodlums with ties to Al-Qaeda.
American 1: It's great to see people rise up against their oppressors man. The U.S. should help the Free Syrian Army at all costs!

American 2: What are you, a fool? We have a $16 trillion debt to worry about and you want to spend more money to aid these Syrian rebels who we know nothing about? U.S. intervention will be viewed by the Arab world as occupation - not liberation. For once, lets stay out of everyone else's problems and think of ways to improve our own country. All of our efforts in the Middle East have only put radical jihadists into power.

Hezbollah 

An organization of militant Shi'ite Muslims based in Lebanon.
Hezbollah is Arabic for "Party of Allah" or "Party of God."
