A twist on book title “Beyond the Looking Glass,” the term refers to the reflection of the camera flash that occurs when someone takes a self portrait while holding the camera up in the mirror. The flash reflects off the mirror and becomes the dominant subject. These cliché self-portraits are used excessively on social networking profiles.
Alice tried to take a picture of herself in the mirror, but only ended up with another Looking Flash.

Many devout supporters of the Republican or Democratic parties are nothing more than goose steppers.

A combination of "polite" and "poseur," a Polseur is a person who acts overly nice to others when they do not really mean it. The worst type of Polseur is a woman who acts too nice to a man, thus leading him on.
After Joe was rejected by Mary, he realized she was nothing more than a Polseur for exuding artificial niceness to him.
