A bundle of sticks held together by a cord. The word fascist came from this. In a fascist government, the sticks are the people held together by the cord, or leader.
Fascist actually came from the word fasces.

There are many different types of radio receiving circuits:
-Crystal (see above)
-Regenerative
-Tuned Radio Frequency (TRF)
-Superheterodyne
Modern radios are superheterodyne. The superheterodyne circuit replaced the TRF and regenerative circuits by the 1930's, and crystal sets were nearly dead until solid state radio emerged.
