pearl girl

Term started in late 1950's. Traditionally, a girl attending Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia. A true 'pearl girl' must be able to wear pearl earrings and necklace with EVERY outfit. A pearl girl is a daddy's girl and usually from an affluent Southern family. She wears Lilly Pulitzer and can quote from "the preppy handbook." She accessorizes every outfit with ribbons, bows and pearls.

She's truly a southern pearl girl! She's wearing Lilly and pearls--always well dressed.

Someone who walks with a slight apeish quality and yells such intellegent comments as "get ye hair cut ya scutty greb" and "nar i iz gonna fuck dat greb up if he comes near meh lyk" Female versions "nar-dettes" tend to go along with whatever their nar-dan boyfriend says and doesn't mind when he borrows her jewellry to look more "bling"

pep band

A crazy group of people who play awesome music with shiny instruments at athetic events. Usually their music is heard so often that even the football players have the songs memorized. The drum major leads the pep band by waving his/her arms in random motions to make it look like the band is actually watching him/her.

We're playing that song for pep band AGAIN this year?!
The referee got totally pissed off when the pep band played more than just durring time outs.
