n. a quotation posted onto a blog when things are a bit slow, readers are few and far between and comments are a thing of the past; a pseudo-profound seeming non sequitur designed to fill a painful silence.
'Damn it, no traffic again today. I'm gonna post a mumbleweed. That'll show 'em.'
A game requiring sharp senses and a very steady hand. Played by placing one hand flat on a surface such as a table with the fingers splayed widely, and then using the free hand to jab a knife in the empty spaces between the fingers on the table as quickly as possible.
Different patterns are acceptable, though most commonly done from one side of the hand to the other and back again.
Often played under circumstances of extreme drunkeness, boredom, or both.
"My mama she told me when I was a boy playin' Mumbleypeg,
'Don't drink no black cow's milk and don't you eat no black hen's eggs.'"
-Blind Willie McTell,
"Lord Send Me An Angel"
