Anglification of the Russian term душ, or shower, Russian immigrants introduced the term in the 1990's. American hosts misheard the term and spelled it phonetically with a 'v'. A blue-collar term for a low-life person. A person who is not reliable or trustworthy. A scoundrel. Always a perjorative. It is usually an exclamative word.
Similar in use to douche-bag and douche. Should be considered a spelling error due to translation and corrected to douche.
