The eight group winners and eight runners-up proceed to the knockout phase that culminates with the final match in May. The winner of the UEFA Champions League qualifies for the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA Club World Cup.

An award from UEFA for being voted their best player of the year. Normally given from international performances and European performances. Players who DIDN'T play for Europe during the voting period will NOT be nominated, no matter if they played like 2015 Ronaldo or 2012 Messi or 2015 Neymar in the 3rd division of Uruguay.
